If you look in the Rob G. database for the Canon 1D mark II, you will se that the max writing speed of the SD
is almost twice that of CF.

Here in Sweden the price of 512 SD cards has just the other day gone below the price for 512 CF cards.
The higer rated cards are soon to follow.

The tech of the SD cards is a newer one, moore speed and pricedrop will come faster than with the CF cards.
Just look at what has happened the last 3-6 months.

Regards.

Wait untill you get your camera.
CF cards useoldtechnology. In a couple of years nobody will want to use them.
SD cards are the future, faster and cheaper allmost every day now.
I have two Lexar 2GB CF, works fine in my 1DS but for the new camera I
will bye som SD cards.
----------------------------------------------------------------------- ------
Cannot agree with that one Senior. CF is ahead of SD in capacity and will remain so for some considerable time.
Note also that all new cameras of a professional nature still accept CF.
Methinks you are somwhat premature in you estimation on storage devices mon ami.
