Hi Paul

I replied to Mike off list, but fyi this happens on my powerbook too, I cant say exactly when it first occurred, but looking some images which I have kept on the Pb , there are images shot last year on a fuji S2 which are now 1/1/1904 00:00 and images from a D1 and 1ds which have also changed.

youre quite right.. a get info shows that the creation date is missing, but I seem to remember that the files were fine when copied to a desktop.
all the exif data is there, date time and original. the internal battery is fine as is the time and date setting.

Ill take a peek tomorrow and see how the files are on my external drive.

I enquired on a mac list a month or two ago and got the reply " mine does that too" from a few, not seen it on a desktop yet.

searched google and apple zilch..

a bit irritating when you want to make a slide show in time order.......as an apple consultant what say you? :)

a virtual beer to the provider of the solution.

P

ps there seems to be another little bug seen in the file browser which seems to be currupting images moved from CF cards, cant quite figure if its the camera cards or the mac...they open fine in ACR then will corrupt at random with bright purple streaks, anyone else seen this let me know and we will compare notes.

Can anyone suggest what's going wrong?

Creation date data is probably absent and OSX is substituting its default
creation date. Does the Sigma have its own camera control software? If so,
what happens if you copy a file from the camera to the Mac via this
software? Does Image Capture see the camera, if connected via USB or
FireWire? If so, does Image Capture properly see the file creation dates?

Best regards
