Even if you hate scripting, it's well worth looking at some of the useful &
free scripts that are supplied with OS X.

There are Folder Actions for duplicating images, resizing and saving as
jpegs, creating HTML pages etc just sitting there, waiting to be used :-)

As I mentioned, this is only a quick example - so it is very limited in what
it can do. If you don't want LZW you can replace "-LZW" with "-none".

If you want to duplicate files you'll need to add a few more lines of script
to make the whole thing a lot more robust.

You can see that it gets a bit more complicated when you need to make a
script that is for public use :-(
