If that does not work, I still swear by 'taking them for a ride'. You tell it that it is going to the tip, put it in the boot of your car and drive around a bit, (speed bumps are good) and magically - no more funny business! I am only half joking, a good shaking might work just as well.

This is no joke, it was recommended to me by our good friend John at Marrutts - and worked on more than one occasion. I'm not sure about the talking to it and other threatening behavior, though I must admit to doing that too quite loudly at times. But a car ride and back over cobblestones works wonders, it just shakes the air bubbles out - that's the theory anyway. Or maybe it was just giving it a good talking to that worked. Try both.
