Hi Seamus,
you will find that of a certain model of printer, not all devices print quite
the same. This was most prevalent on some of the older A3+ models (1270 and
1290 being really good examples of this). However, it is also an issue on the
4000 - I have a friend who has 3 of these, all of which provide reasonably
similar colour.... and were pretty good straight out of the box. Ours however
was incredibly dark & laid down far too much ink. I had to reprint my
evaluation chart as I thought I must have used the wrong settings......
See if there are any 3rd party profiles available.. or try increasing the ink
density levels, but that really is a fudge in this context. Or better still,
get someone to profile it for you!!! This variability is why people can make a
living out of profiling other people's equipment - if they all printed the
same, they'd have to find another area to work in!!!

Kind regards

 Does
this mean I could a naf set of profiles, I also tried printing it on the
photo rag on the 4000 and it looks to have the same problem, not enough ink.
