Would you mind posting a transcript of a fogra report made on proofmaster paper, say semimatte?, simulating Fogra 27 (ISOcoated)? I am, in particular, interested in seeing the Delta E of the primaries and the average and the L value of 100K.
Hi Thomas,
I don't know whether Lee has had a chance to send this to you,
No yet I'm afraid
but, using Epson (OK, I know it's not proofmaster paper)
Indeed it isn't. There is a huge difference between the two, hence my interest in the claims of seeing a good report on this.
semi matte proofing, using the set up from Bodini:
Printer Profile Epson proofing paper Reference profile ISO Coated
Delta E Tolerance Substrate: 2.02 3.00 OK Average: 1.48 4.00 OK Maximum: 3.38 10.00 OK Primary colors: 1.17 5.00 OK
Yep looks pretty nice, although the substrate can never get better on this paper. It's simply not suited to proofing ISO coated as it can't get light enough and is neutral where you actually need a b value of -3...
100C L55.14 a-39.91 b-49.58 Delta E 1.1 100M L47.48 a-76.15 b-3.88 Delta E 0.5 100Y L89.43 a-4.13 b-95.67 Delta E 1.0 100K L15.77 a0.22 b0.20 Delta E 1.2
Readings produced with an eye one proof.
Please excuse my ignorance, but I'm not sure where to find the average of
the 100K...
Indeed. It's hard to get lower than L6 (d. 2.05/Status E)...
Thomas, would I calculate that from dividing the sum of the results and dividing the total by four (2.012)?
Not the average of 100 K but the average (from the report) and the maximum Black.
cheers,
Thomas
