Hi

Thanks for the link to RAW Developer
<http://www.iridientdigital.com/products/>

Since I had a load of the test 1Ds raw files sitting in a folder that I used
for looking at the DxO raw converter recently, I thought I'd give it a quick
try...

I'm sure that with all the adjustments and settings (there are a -lot- of
them) it should eventually be able to give good conversions, but after
looking at several blue sunsets I'd warn people not to expect the ease with
which they use ACR and the like :-) ... I know how that image -should- look,
I was there, and I sold a print of it the other day! (conventional sunset
colours)

The feature list is impressive, but when the program starts up with no
windows or even a splash screen, your first thought is to whether anything
is actually happening? (HCI 101 - give the user some feedback when they may
not be sure what is going on)

I've not got time at the moment to give it a real test, I suspect it might
be rather good, -when- you work out what is going on and how to use it. I'd
appreciate off-list comments from anyone who gives it a good go -- there is
a watermarked working demo at the site above.

bye for now
