Happy new year guys and gals - may it be a good one to you all!

I'm about to make a test which will quantify the amount of illuminant metamerism apparent on a few different printer/paper/inktypes. The results wil be published on www.pixl.dk along with some of the other non profit stuff available there.

I'm looking for volounteers WITH PROFILED PRINTERS who are willing to makeone or two A4 print and send to me. If your printer doesn't have a custom profile it's no good participating as the visual results will differ too much from the other printers to make it useful, and will thus make your combo look bad compared to the others.

The idea is to ascertain, visually and numerically, how much certain combos change under different lightconditions for a range of colours. I expect the test will show certain tendencies and advantages/disadvantages between Dye and Pigmentbased printers and will make it easier to select a combination of printer and paper suitable for exhibition (and monochrome) work, and for aimprints/proofing.

If you want to participate please send a mail to me OFFLIST to
<email[at]pixl.dk> - usual substitution of [a] with @
with the subjectline
"METAMERIC TEST"
and in the textbody stating which printer, paper and inkset (and what driver if it's a non standard one) you use. General discussions of the subject is OK on-list but all replies to this should be sent OFFLIST please.

I'll send a file back to you over the next week or so that you need to print out and send to me in Denmark. I'll measure the prints and prepare the web content within a few weeks after recieving the prints and make it available online.

I'm looking for the following combos:

Epson 2100/7600/9600, ultrachrome inks Archival matte, Premium Semigloss, Premium Semimatte, Luster. Ilford stock (don't know the names but it seems popular). Any watercolour paper.

Epson 1290, Original inks, Photo Paper, Doubleweight matte, Prmium Glossy Photo Paper, any watercolour paper.

Epson 1160/900, original inks, Photo Paper, watercolour paper

Canon 9100, Canon stock (again don't know the names)

Canon W2200, Canon stock

HP 30/130, HP stock, any other stock

HP 10/20/50, Any stock

Third Party inks:
Lyson Photonic, Lysonic, Photochrome and Small Gamut inkset, suitable papers (Doesn't matter what printer it is, as long as it's profiled).

Other third party inks with whatever paper you have.

Third party drivers on whatever paper I can get:
Imageprint, Colorbyte, GMG, ORIS, ProofMaster, ONYX Postershop. Other Rip's are interesting as well but not with too esoteric papers...

Thanks in advance to those willing to lend a hand!
