I think, it does not matter. The "collective hosted" perhaps should go
and this list should focus on advanced Plone developers issues (on the level of Martin's book) compared to the more n00b-level plone-users list..however it is not easy to choose the right list for a particular issue. I have often very special questions about a particular technical issue. So I choose this list in order to address the advanced Plone people there rather than list of n00bs (under the assumption that not every advanced Plone user is subscribed
to plone-users but to this list).

Yeah, I'm happy to answer questions of product developers (collective or not) on this list.

On this front, the introductory email Alex Limi sent to the plone-developers list re. *this list* stated in part:

<quote>
A list for add-on product developers to get help with their
Collective-hosted products - updates to newer Plone versions,
migrations and general questions about Plone add-on development.

<snip/>

and the goal is that
this list can be sort of a Plone Developer List "Light" — a more
focused area for the people who maintain Plone products to ask their
questions, get advice on updating and future-proofing their
applications

I have been with plone a long time and have only just realised that this is the right list for a lot of my questions, so I also feel it's miss named. As soon as you get to write filesystem code your issues are vastly different from zmi, plone ui or even buildout related issues. It would be nice to have plone-coders or something (and plone core development very clearly marked as such). I know you guys already here know what you can and can't ask here but its fustrating not being able to find the right forum for questions let me tell you.
