My Uncle was vary bin into ham radio. He won a contest to get his masters paid for at the location of his undergrad. So Mathematics @ NYU it was. That put him into NASA back in the mid 60's, and a little project Landstat. I was shown some of his choice call confirmation cards long ago. Included the Middle East, Russia, China, and the South Pole.
