About to step into a mine field, lets see how far I can get before it blows up
in my face...

I'm wondering ( Not a joke, not a baiting ,really wondering. ) when/where did
the President say that Saddam had anything directly to do with 9/11? Was it in
the UN speech, or around that time? I've heard it said that the President
lied, and I assume the 'lie' was that he said Saddam Hussein was
behind/ordered/was a significant backer etc. of the 9/11 attacks. (OK I realize
that some people, could be <1% could be 99+% of the US, thinks that the Prez.
has lied about other things, I'm just wondering about this situation. ) I need
to be educated on this statment of the President, because either I missed it,
or I have wipped it from my mind.

I'm not trying to start a flame war here, honest.

The following quote from the online WSJ summerizes my thinking, but I am open
to changing it.

"This administration never said that the 9/11 attacks were orchestrated between
Saddam and al Qaeda," Bush said. "We did say there were numerous contacts
between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda."
