Yep, the difference is that with Ubuntu and Mac, they improve things that need improving. With Windows, they add eye-candy you end up turning off anyway after the honeymoon is over and you have real work to do, and move stuff around so you have to re-learn where everything is. And they do it for no really good reason, in my opinion.
