"In God we trust" as the USA motto was the issue, and God is The Father, The Son (eg Jesus Christ), and The Holy Spirit, which is one. Go back and read the comments; at least through comment number 10. Many of the comments seem applicable to the GOP's showman, who made such a big deal out of a simple misunderstanding, purely to score GOP political points by shaming President Obama. If you ask me, the GOP isn't so "Grand".
