If you want to change poverty you could adopt a socialist society where it's
the governments job to alleviate poverty.  Instead we desire capitalism.
Where the glory goes to the winners and the losers are stuck on their own.  

Poverty has been around forever.  It can't be fixed.  At best you can raise
the level of the suffering.

No we don't.  Our border is not at all wide open.  It's actually tough to
gain entrance.  Your confusing the land line between Mexico with the entire
nation.  Have you ever gone outside of the USA and then returned through a
standard entry way?  Have you been in another country but crossed into a
pocket of the USA for customs clearance?

exists.
