There was a bug in SP2, but that's not what caused the problem. The problem has been around since VFP6 or so. It hasn't bothered me, because I (almost) never use the report writer. I think this is an incarnation of the "data environment" concept (which I also never use), which tends to over-encapsulation, thus freezing the configuration to match the one in which it was developed. Anyway, I've never heard of anyone who solved a problem by putting the printer environment BACK IN!
