I originally bought Pinnacle, and was very impressed with its capabilities. Then I started to figure out how much time I was spending and pretty well gave up the video biz.

Lately, I had to fix up a bad VHS we had digitized (big gaps, some useless stuff, etc.), and found Windows Movie Maker did the job very well indeed. I see no reason to buy anything else unless, of course, you're trying for a YouTube career.
