So, wait: SHOW WARNINGS is returning exactly what you want, you just can't
figure out how to read it, right?

Isn't there a function in VFP that would convert the message field from its
encoding (probably UTF-8, depending on how the server was configured) to
VFP-readable ANSI/ASCII?
