I'm using XBase++ in my current role.  A little different from Fox
syntax but otherwise OK.

There's no proper form designer (FPW 2.6 code generator style...) no
reporting facilities, no decent IDE, compiling takes an age, and there
is at least 1 serious bug in the current compiler that stops us using
it...

Often I prototype code in VFP9 and then convert to XBase++ syntax.
I've got Fox running now with a browse window, editing some test data.
