I have two philips monitors on my desk in the office and two Hanns-G ones at home.. Both work fine and were only about £150 each Software to recommendŠ. Parallels to get your old windows programs working such as fox pro. Š VLC for watching videos etc chromeŠ HardwareŠ Apple Magic Mouse, Western Digital 2TB My Passport USB 3 drive, Synology DS411slim for a NAS box. Adam. I'm as much of a Mac neophyte as you can get and am looking for advice on what apps/accessories to consider. In particular: 1. Text editor: Textmate, BBEdit, or Emacs/VI? 2. Multiple external monitors: I think I can drive 2 or 3 off this machine using the Thunderbolt-2 interfaces and/or the HDMI port. Any recommendations on monitor specs (brand/size/model) to consider or avoid? Apple has some gorgeous monitors starting at $1000 - that's a little too pricey for me. Any other "gotta have" apps, utilities, or hardware accessories you would recommend? Thank you!
