The banality of it all gets to me.

There have been incredible advances in computer technology during the last
couple of decades. Previously unimaginable storage capacity at dirt-cheap
prices, no-SQL databases for flexible structures, redundant servers dispersed
geographically, use of Bayesian inference to infer and predict usage patterns,
automatic synchronization of preferences and data between devices, collection
and collating of usage patterns across time and space, and many other solutions
to long-standing logical and technical problems.

And which of the world's many pressing problems is first to benefit from these
dazzling new capabilities? The sale of ads for penile enhancement.

I weep for the future.
