Hi Foxgang.
I have a client with windows 8.1 problems. Well Microsoft stupidity problems
really I think.
I have moved some tables from Program Files, where M$ now say you can't put
them, to local AppData where you should be able to put them. One laptop is
coming up with table errors like cannot find or cannot delete. In my code, I
make sure they are not used, delete them and doevents to allow windows to
clear before creating them again. I checked the drive write ahead cache is
off but it still happens. I also noticed tmp files in that directory. This
is not the tmp directory but they appear. It does not happen on my 8.1
machines in the office either. I assume it could be permissions. The laptops
are on a net in the office and not while away. I saw these while away but
Internet connected. Any ideas please? Another machine is coming up with
BSOD. But that has Norton anti-virus on it so anything can happen. These are
both Dell laptops but not the same, and only a few weeks old.
Al
