OK - i figured out a temp work-around. Am actually Controlling my Laptop
via Teamviewer - so, I'm working on my Desktop - but, using PS on my
laptop. Strange but true...

Sorry Mike - I failed to include that critical info. on my initial
posting - but, I did on the follow-up. Although - i didn't specify
Home vs. Pro. In fact, I was a Cheapo when I bought it - so, its
acually the Home Premium version of the 64-bit Win7 OS.
So - yeah - now I'm bummed I didn't pony up for the Pro version -
since I never thought I would need that XP Mode thing - since now it
seems I like DO Need it. Bummer...

Is this Win7 Pro or Win7 Home (or Win7 Ultimate)?
I've found some software has issues with Win 7 Home that works great
with Win 7 Pro (32 or 64 bit).
Also, Pro comes with the ability to run a virtual computer running
Windows XP for those programs that won't work with Win7 in any way
shape form or fashion. I've found the Virtual Windows XP (under Win7
Pro) to be exceptional.

OK - I just went thru some older ProFox "Archives" as they exist
from within my Inbox on my PC here.
I saw mention of an XP Mode. Maybe that may help me - but, I suspect
not - since obviously - after thinking about what I wrote below and
that 32-Bit process running. Obviously the issue is running a 32-Bit
App on my 64-Bit OS - since I have the 64-bit version of Win7
running. Yeah - I forgot to mention that. I run that - since I use
fancy 3D SW - and wanted to get as much power as possible out of
this machine.
However, I thought 32-Bit apps could normally be installed on a
64-Bit OS - even though it just means the Apps are not Optimized to
run on the 64-Bit OS...

Hey folks,
I know this kinda of topic has been discussed before - re:16-bit
apps running under a 32-bit OS. But, I normally figured the problem
happens w/REALLY Old SW - like FoxPro for Win Apps attempting to
run under like Win7 or Win8. But, in my case - its Photoshop
Elements. Essentially a "cut-down" version of Photoshop. I have the
Older version of the program - been running it for a number of
years on different systems of mine. Its running fine on my laptop
under Vista. '
So - i tried installing it on my newest Desktop - running Win7.
Previously when I tried it - I got some error message window during
the install. But, NOW - I just tried installing it again - to get
more feedback - and NOTHING Comes up after the Win UAC window is
displayed and I hit YES. Its just like nothing happens!
Although - when I go into Processes in Task Manager - I now see
SEVEN Instances of a 32-Bit Setup Launcher running - confirming I
attempted SEVEN Times to install it (the last 2 times - I did it
just to see where a process would show up - since there was Another
process that had 4 occurrences - but, it did NOT Gen another
occurrence upon trying to run the Setup again - and that's when i
found this Other 32-Bit process).
What can I do? Do I need to run some kinda VMWare - and then I can
Install & Run this older PS App? Or - any work-around to get it to
install normally under Win7 - and then just USE this App under Win7?
TIA,
Kurt
