That explains why my download speeds drop when my wife is using the microwave.

I have tested that with a WiSpy Spectrum Analyzer unit, and it is amazing how much bouckground signal noise exists in the 2.4Ghz "unlicensed" spectrum. It can all cause problems. The best signal seems to be the one where the channel selected is for your WiFi solution is the one where your WiFi is "shouting the loudest", so to say.
