        Why not then unify Iraq and Iran? That makes about as much sense.  
Iraqis don't see themselves as Iraqis first and foremost, and Sunni,  
Shia or Kurd as a secondary characteristic. Their religious/ethnic  
identity trumps any western notion of an Iraqi nation.
