Long ago and in Tempe Az I worked at granola restaurant.  That section of
Tempe is now a
hotel that butts up to the Salt river.  We would open our back door and a
line of homeless would already be there.  We would give away all that was
fresh for that day.

I would rather give it away instead of toss it in the trash or disposal.
