I use craigslist all the time. Well, less than I used to. Recently, more
and more low-life scum are putting up pages and pages of items for sale
that nobody wants (unsolicited commercial advertisement; spam).
craigslist used to provide a place for community members to find each
other. You have a job, you want a job, you have a place to rent, you
want to rent, etc. Now, it is inundated with spam postings and nearly
useless.

Craigslist isn't spam, but a growing number of posts on craigslist are spam.

If I want to buy a t-shirt, I'll google for t-shirts. How much broader
an arena should people feel entitled to? If the seller is in Texas, why
the hell should his wares appear in San Francisco's craigslist?

Whether you think he's a low-life spammer or not (he's admitted it), why
are you defending him when he's breaking the rules on craigslist:

"""
Additionally, you agree not to:
...

v) post non-local or otherwise irrelevant Content, repeatedly post the
same or similar Content or otherwise impose an unreasonable or
disproportionately large load on our infrastructure;

w) post the same item or service in more than one classified category or
forum, or in more than one metropolitan area;

"""
