Madigan, > He's fighting in Afghanistan like Al Gore was fighting > in Vietnam.
That's not entirely false, but they both had things in common. Al Gore was the son of a prominent senator, and had a lot of trouble getting any assignment in Vietnam. Harry is of course 3rd in line... and had to fight to get into combat in any capacity. Al Gore wound up going as a journalist. You have seen the numbers of journalists that have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Surely you can agree that going there in ANY capacity beats sitting on your hands. In Britain there is a long history of having a stellar military, and of respecting those who serve. That is something the US has in common with Britain. It isn't all good because we are involved in too many places in the world -- also like Britain -- but there you have it.
