Gandhi is Indian. There are lots of very dark Indians, and none of them would appreciate being confused for an African. If you spend any time around Indians, you come to realize they don't look anything like Africans. As far as Brazil goes, they don't have as many northern European blue-eyed ice-age mutants in their population so they tend to be dark like almost everyone else on the planet.
