I appreciate that this may not apply to your situation. Apart from anything else, is it getting backed up properly if files are open all the time? Maybe, if you have a copy of FoxPro/DOS or Foxpro for Windows you could write a seperate EXE that would iterate through all the tables, attempt to open each. If opened, do a pack/reindex, otherwise skip.
