I respectfully disagree, if you've designed your application in a N-tier 
fashion so as to not bind your hands by building tons of that 
"complexity" into your application. 

I've been using a N-tier approach for 5+ years now and it makes my 
development life very easy, especially since I've got my own little 
framework that is well suited for my tasks.
