My god, Bill. I missed Stephen's post, and I really do not know what could have provoked such a strong response from you. You are clearly a very intelligent person, and very much appreciated by myself and others. Further, I do not disagree in total with your assessment re: what M$ has done to those of us who actually managed to create some profitable VFP based solutions for our clients. I do feel abandoned by M$, and resent their high handed attempts to crush others through product kill-off and FUD. But to say Stephen does not "belong here" because he is allegedly playing a "MS-lackey role" is a position that would destroy the very essence of what "we" are all about as ProFoxers. As yourself, I am seeking a blend of M$ alternatives, but I am not overtly slamming everything M$ just because of M$'s way of doing business. I feel I have been beguiled by M$ in some areas, and I put those issues forth in the past. That said, M$ actually got a few things right IMHO, accidentally perhaps (VFP, Virtual PC 2004). Certainly I would not try to make a ProFox member feel as though he/she ought to be ousted on account of his/her opinion r: M$ differing from mine. Stephen, despite how anyone else may feel about you being welcome "here", I find your posts to be of value. Unfortunately it is likely I will not see any responses to my little "outburst", as I did take this [OT] (duck and cover <g>). Bill, this is not a chastisement, as for me to do that would put me in a judgmental position - and this little matter does not warrant that. I just felt strongly compelled to express my shock at your statement, and want to let Stephen know he is also appreciated by at least one of his fellow ProFoxers.
