I never said it was easy or that there was no skill involved... just that I
question the sportness of it. I see it as more of a performance... like a
ballet... which I don't watch either, but recognize the difficulty.
I have to agree with Michael. I don't like judged 'sports'. That goes back to
the days when Russian skaters would win all the time whether they were good or
not at the Olympics and other international competition. I know these things
were supposed to be non-political, but...
Even after last night's Flyers win over the Caps, some were whining that the
tripping penalty that led to the power play goal should not have been called in
overtime. Officials are a necessary evil even in real sports, but just letting
them choose winners is not really sporting.
