Well Pete, it's not just any rich butt.  It's the butt of a rich, but guilt 
ridden liberal who feels that by making this token guesture he is making a 
difference in the world that is sorry life before didn't. 

It's often been said that the cheapest car to own is the one you have, and it 
is usually true.  My Z28 doesn't get bad mileage for a car that can light up 
the back tires if I hit the gas hard when I'm running at 50 mph.  I could, if I 
were to undergo a fit of utter stupidity, swap it for a new econobox and save 
$100 a month in gas, but I would have a $300, $400 or higher car payment to do 
it... and it wouldn't be near as much fun to drive.  Saving money can be very 
expensive, both to your wallet and to your soul.
