Don't worry; the good old USA of America is still a Democracy, thank 
God.  The Democratic/Republican platform would not be completely up to 
Obama or McCain as President of the US.  They would need cooperation 
from the House of Representative and Senate to carry out policy with the 
guidance from the Supreme Court to ensure our Constitutional freedom, 
privacy, and due process are not abused.

The system of collective conscience from the groups provide a system of 
checks and balances that has served the American people well for many 
year, and it is far superior to a single authoritative figure acting out 
his desires.
