I second the Dell suggestion.  Check out their Vostro desktops.  No
crapware, you can still upgrade to Vista with the XP Pro downgrade option.
Their precision and optiplex lines are also nice, they have crapware, but
they also have a 3 year warranty standard.  Many also can be up/downgraded
to XP Pro.
