I think we'd all agree that setting up an app on the local workstation is harder (requires more steps and thought) than setting it up on a network share. So if you have in your arsenal a plan to set up the app on the local workstation, you also have in your arsenal a plan to set it up on the network. The same cannot be said the other way around.
