You can modify the location of the data files that MySQL uses in the
configuration files.

Search for "Datadir" on:

http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/option-files.html

There isn't really an equivalent of a "database file" within MySQL though as
per M$SQL.

If you do change the file location though and you are on Linux then make
sure you set up file access permissions correctly.

Any MySQL gurus out there? I need to "attach" to a mysql database in MySQL,
but I don't see anywhere that lets you attach to the database like in MS SQL
Server.
