The reason I pointed this out, is you intimated that the US was the only country involved in this, and therefore we are the epicenter of evil. The facts show that Africans participated in the act of slavery, moreso than anyone else. Otherwise, there would not have been a slave trade industry. They are still involved in this practice, but the US doesn't participate. Sex slaves are being sold, according to many sources, to Russia and many eastern bloc countries, as well as Arab countries.
So, I don't think you can impune the United States integrity with something that happened 200 years ago. Haven't you heard we have a black man for president? It is factually interesting but morally irrelevant. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of John Harvey Sent: Sunday, 21 March 2010 4:56 PM To: 'ProFox Email List' Subject: RE: [OT] Welcome to Deemocracy You might want to re-read the history on slavery in the US. The African natives captured other tribes and sold them to the other countries (not the US, like Portugal, Spain, The Netherlands, etc, who sold some to the US. Slavery is still going on in parts of Africa, particularly by the Arabs.
