Nope.  The power that spins the wheels on a freight train is from
battery.  Those are recharged from diesel motors, but the train is an
electric motor powered beast.

And how do you think the crap from China gets to Chicago?  Boat to
Truck?  hahahaha   Boat to train to truck is how it goes.

One of the spouses in the church choir is a diesel mechanic with the
rail yard in town and told me that is how it is today. I'll take it
from the guy who fixes them over wikipedia.
