John,
Always remember that it's no good having a Lightswitch if the bulb is
useless!!!! <lol>

Rick,

Isn't LightSwitch for non programmers? I figure to learn it, only so I can
show an end user how to build something.

>> then I could go for it.<<

There are two other major drawbacks they need to hurdle for me to seriously
consider using it for anything other than quick and dirty, or one-off
solutions:

* Ability to change the results (I know I can create my own templates, this
is not what I am referring to)
* Get to version 3.0 so I know they are serious about keeping it around

Right now it is generating code, compiling to assemblies, and tossing the
code. Even the weak VFP App and Form Wizards allow you to change the
resulting code base.

It is not even to release 1.0 and they only in the last few days are getting
developer feedback from people who are not in the inner circle. I believe
this team is going to get quite a bit of feedback, and so far they sound
like they are willing to listen and adjust as needed.

>> Supported a higher-level language like Python, Ruby or Lua<<

I heard an interview (can't recall which one) that other languages might be
supported in the future, but as we have seen, Microsoft is severely cutting
resources on two of the languages in your list. So I don't hold much hope
for this prospect.
