Decision comes down to $$$. How much will you spend for sound and that will present the quality you are going to get. You are going to get a set of speakers with an amp to power the speakers. Are 2 good enough or do you want the sub woofer experience as well? If you have a portable MP3 player do you want to be able to easily plug that in or always have to run through the computer? I just got a desktop player/charger for my iPhone. I have similar for my Zune. The Zune one cost around 75. by Altec Lansing and the sound is great. The iPhone version was 45 and free shipping and is ok.
