OK, been there, too. Just wondering what others have done in *user interface* to save users from doing something that the application needs to do, but "you just shouldn't" except in extraordinary circumstances. Since it is a "given" that users completely blow off "Are you sure?" dialogs, I have: -- Randomly changed the background color of the dialog (bright red. yellow, neon green, etc.) My idea was to startle the user a bit so he would actually *contemplate* the "sure?" Obviously this was before using "system" dialogs. -- Required users to type "YES" in the correct case AND push the button. -- Obviously: disabling or hiding the function entirely for all but "super-admin" users.
