Right. Temperatures are raising twice as fast in the arctic region compared to most other locations. I don't know if there is a corresponding location where temperature are growing colder, rather than warming, which would offset raising temperature in the arctic.
Also, I don't know if there are enough locations reporting temperatures to provide the data needed to statistically determine a global temperature average, or to what extent a global temperature average is relevant. Perhaps temperature changes in specific locations is more important in assessing the threat to our planet and life on earth. It does seem to me that there are more extremes in the weather like drought, record high and low temperatures, floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, etc. Here is a link to an article that might surprise most on the list.
