Hawaiians are probably paying special attention to raising sea levels; because, the effects would be particularly harsh on them. Hawaii is made up of a group of small island in the pacific ocean.
I flew my first wife in to Honolulu and met her there for 7 days of R&R, during my one year tour in Vietnam. I rented a car on morning to explore the island, and was able to drive my wife and I around the entire coast line of Honolulu in a couple of hours. After realizing how tiny the island was, and being a custom to plenty of elbow room coming from Texas, I got a good taste of island fever. LOL Really.
