Probably for nefarious reasons, such as what would likely happen if you left the front door of you house wide open when leaving for a 2-week vacation. If you had gotten 366K calls and 28gb of information downloaded, but it was spread out across thousands of ip address all over the world, and happened over weeks instead of a day, would you feel different about it? If so, why? Is this public or proprietary information we are talking about? If proprietary, why are you leaving at least the back door wide open? If public, why worry about it? If some things are proprietary and some things public, then you have an organizational problem. Just my opinions, of course, given the information at hand. I know that life isn't so black and white but at least the black/white questions could help decide the best course of action going forward...
