VMWare Workstation. There is a cost around $200 US. However, It allows you
to use the old XP as is, in a VM on the new Windows 7 64-bit OS. There is an
import that builds the VM across the local area network to the new
workstation. 

IF your current Windows is less than XP SP 2, or does not have NTFS file
systems, you will NOT be able to use this method.

As you are building your new system the way you want, you can open the old
XP in a window do accomplish the task at hand.
