John, I ran Server 2008 in the Virtual PC 2007 on Windows Vista in the past. Virtual PC guest OS's are only 32-bit. These days I use VMWare workstation though. Better snapshotting, 64-bit capable, multi-core configuration. Though the Hyper-V solution from Microsoft has these too.
