Al,
When I did this in my Organizer App (Loaded onto Ed's site) I did it using the
GridHitTest Method.

Download the code and take a look. It effectively gives you dynamic tooltips.

any hints. I don't get FoxRockX
what seems to be an issue is moving the mouse over does not invoke MouseEnter.
Otherwise I could do it that way Al

The July issue of FoxRockX has an article by Tamar on using Access methods to
do something very similar.

Subject: tooltips and grid text

Hi gang
I have a need for a grid textbox to show a tooltip. Its a code in the text and
I wanted on mouse enter to fill the tooltiptext with the reason. But I cant get
it to work. It will be different for each row so not a matter of one tooltip,
more each row will have a tooltip depending on the reson code.
Anyway is it possible to have tooltip text on a grid Al
