Thanks Doug. That did it!
I originally started with RC1 and upgraded to RC3 when it came out, then
to Newton when it was released. All installs were off the d/l isos. It
is possible that the /etc/apt/sources.list didn't get "upgraded"
somewhere along the process...dunno.
