For many years I have used a personal profile .ijs file with j. I
primarily use jconsole in Linux and OSX. My profile contains the
following 2 lines -
NB. set line length and number of lines hnt
9!:37 ]0 5555 0 555
which has worked fine in all systems up through and including j602.
However, in J7 (both 32 and 64 bit, in both Linux and Darwin) it seems
to be a no-op and the default values prevail, i.e.
JVERSION
Engine: j701/2011-01-10/11:25
Library: 7.01.077
Platform: Darwin 32
Installer: j701a_mac_intel.dmg
InstallPath: /Applications/j701

I'm aware that the details of including a personal profile changed
betweeen j602 and j701, but the other definitions in my profile are
there and working just fine. It is also true that in j\iOS, which
purports to be the same version of j701, my profile changes the Output
Control as expected....
Any ideas/help with what is happening and how I can correct this?
